A Brief History of HCC:
1769: Report of Highgate gentlemen seeking members
for a cricket club.
1794: Reports of games, Highgate vs Kentish
Town & Hampstead, and Highgate vs Hampstead. (Highgate - 203, Hampstead - 73).
1802: Reports of a game, Mary-le-bone Club (MCC) XI playing Gentlemen of Hampstead and Highgate, with two men given in for 500 guineas. Hampstead and Highgate won by 112 runs.
1842: An eleven of Hornsey play an eleven of Highgate
for £50.
1850s: The Highgate Club is formed under the
name of Beaumont, playing on Primrose Hill.
1879: The Beaumont Club is reconstituted and moves to Crouch Hill.
1882: The Beaumont Club move to Shepherd’s Cot.
1904: Reports of a juniors game between Beaumont and Christ Church. Beaumont batted first and were bowled out for 1 (a bye)!
1905: Beaumont changes it's name to Highgate.
